Did you know that 23% of London's clothes are unworn? According to research from the U.K clothes reuse charity Traid, this is equivalent to 123 million items. By creating a space to facilitate lively swapping action, we hope to enable some of these pieces to see the light of day.
The Haulternative Closet is a clothes swap for all those interested in fashion and recognise the importance of sustainability within our consumption patterns.
After all, who said that being ethical means being boring? Come mix up your wardrobe with gems brought along by other attendees, and pieces donated by luxury fashion brands.
Overlooking the beauty of South Bank, enjoy mingling with like-minded swappers; browsing the collections of emerging brands in the sustainable sector; all the while sipping on a cocktail of your choice.
So how does it work?
We recommend bringing 3-5 items, which are the likes of All Saints, Reformation, APC, Reiss and Anthropologie. The better quality the items, the longer they will last.
Using a 1-7 point token system, you will be able to swap "up" or "down" and use your tokens to find gems you love from brands such as Topshop and Zara at the lower end ranging all the way up to your Gucci and Chanels at the upper end.
All pieces will be vetted by our team who have experience in design, development and retail to ensure that the pieces put forward by our beautiful attendees are up to scratch. We advise that you bring items that you would love to wear. Maybe a piece you bought for a wedding but only ended up wearing one time or another that is in fab condition but no longer matches your shape or style.
As guests will be attending at different times during the evening, the rotation of clothes will continuously be changing. In the meantime, you can sip on a drink with friends, or participate in some of the exciting discussions we have lined up for you! (tbc)

"Thank you so much for organising an amazing event! I came home with as many pieces as I left with but all brand new to my wardrobe. The biggest surprise was when I found a pair of jeans that fit me perfectly!! I can never find good jeans!"
"Hi! I came to your event tonight and it was so good. I had so much fun. I think the best thing is to see other people walking with the clothes that you don't want anymore. It makes me so happy to know that my beloved clothes will have a second life. Thank you so much."
See you there ladies x
