The Fashion Common Room is an educational platform/event forum facilitating dialogue in the sustainable fashion movement, which questions how we engage with concepts such as "sustainability".
TFCR is a space where citizens, activists and industry leaders alike can come together to learn and come up with innovative solutions to redesign fashion supply chains wherein justice plays a leading role.
By aiming to deploy a more political-economic spin on the current state of affairs in the fashion industry, TFCR seeks to reach a deeper understanding of the global processes that underpin labour exploitation and environmental degradation inherent to fast fashion.
TFCR was born at SOAS University of London out of a dissatisfaction with current industry standards. The platform aims to create spaces where people can come together to explore kinder and more exciting fashion alternatives.
